ITINERARY
Day 1: Rome to Pompeii & Sorrento

The tour departs at 8am sharp - please ensure that youre ready to go by 7:45am. Our first stop of the day is the fascinating city of Pompeii We will approach the awe inspiring sight that is Vesuvius - the volcano responsible for the eruption that buried the ancient city of Pompeii, killing at least 2,000 people and burying them under molten lava and ash which rained down from a column more than 32km high! On our arrival in Pompeii you will be taken on a two hour tour by an expert local guide who will show you the secrets of this buried city and the lives of those who perished there (entry into Pompeii and guided tour are included in the price of the adventure). You can then grab a delicious pizza or pasta at the local restaurant or spend the remaining time checking out the souvenirs, postcards and jewellery on offer in the market before we get back on the road that will lead us past Naples and through the stunning coastal scenery to Sorrento and Camping Santa Fortunata; our home for the next two nights.

Once checked in you will have the chance to explore the gorgeous campsite, the pool and the beach (just a ten minute walk at the foot of the campsite itself) or just grab a shower before we meet back at reception ready to head out into the balmy Sorrento night for an evening full of local delicacies and a cocktail or two! (Bus tickets to town are included in the cost of the adventure) A walking tour of the beautiful main square, stunning coastline and main shopping streets will lead us to our first stop of the night – a free Limoncello and chocolate tasting, the perfect kick-start to our evening. Afterwards your guide will have arranged an optional meal at a local restaurant where you can try delicious pasta, fresh fish, tiramisu, local Solaro wine and, what the hell, another shot of ice cold Limoncello, just for good measure! With full tummies and a bit of a lemony buzz you can hit the town to some more bars. As our first night draws to a close we will head back to the campsite, and you can let the breeze in the trees and the sound of the cicadas lull you to sleep, ready for a bright and early start the next day…

Day 2: Isle of Capri

Day two starts with breakfast at the campsite restaurant and an early meeting at reception at 7.45, ready to catch the bus to the port as we head off on an all day excursion to the stunning celebrity filled island of Capri! Your guide will give you all the info and top tips you need to make your day on this amazing island one to remember. Once there you will have the chance to take a boat trip around the island with an optional stop at the Blue Grotto; home to what must be the clearest most electric blue water in the world and a true must see for any trip to Capri.

On your return to dry land you can take the funicular up to Capri town where you can make like a star and browse the designer shops, enjoy a truly delicious ice-cream, have a meal in one of the many restaurants or simply satisfy your celeb addiction and watch the rich and famous in action. Alternatively head on up to the Giardini di Augusto, some of the prettiest flower-filled gardens in Europe, and admire the views of the crystal clear water below and the striking Faraglioni rocks - limestone stacks and natural arches for which Capri is famous. Alternatively visit Carthusia, the perfumers, and sample the perfumes they create on sight using lemons, oranges and all things Caprese. You can then take your sweet smelling self on up to Anacapri, the quieter, less touristy town just above Capri where you can find gorgeous lace dresses, the beautiful Villa San Michele and some lovely restaurants nestled in the winding side streets off the main square.

For just 8€ you can take a chair lift around Mount Solaro, the highest point on the island, and get some fantastic holiday snaps in the process! Public bus is fun and cheap, but nothing beats catching one of the open top taxis back down to the port and your waiting ferry. Grab a group of mates (they seat 6!) your best sunnies and feel like a movie star with the wind in your hair as you zoom down the sheer coastal roads back to the port, a truly unforgettable experience!! Once back in Sorrento you will have time to explore the shops and soak up the Southern Italian evening atmosphere before heading back to the campsite for an optional meal at the campsite restaurant – cheap food, great wine and fab people – the perfect ending to our second night.

Day 3: Amalfi Coast to Rome

In the morning we will drive the spectacular Amalfi coastline, past the town of Positano and with relaxed stops in Amalfi and Ravello. Admire the homes of the rich and famous. Chill out in a cafe or wander the beautiful gardens. Quaint shops and restaurants abound. In the afternoon we will make our way back to Rome. It is very important that you dont make any arrangements for leaving Rome on the last night of the tour - sometimes the traffic on the Amalfi Coast is very heavy and we cannot guarantee our arrival time.
